The President's Corner: L'Shana Tova!

L’Shana Tovah everyone.

Thank you, Rabbi Goldberg, Cantor Schwartz & Chip Colvin for the beautiful service.

It is so wonderful to see our congregation here together and a warm welcome to those that are streaming.

CBSW is 40 years old or 40 years young, depending on your age and perspective.  In these four decades we have grown into a diverse community of Jewish learning, friendship, and daily life.

Our 40-year journey is so symbolic in Jewish tradition.

Today’s generation of CBSW would not be here if those founding and long-standing members did not create this sacred place for Jewish families of The Woodlands and surrounding areas.  You built a religious home in a geographical area where it’s easy to feel isolated.

We have Congregants here today from all four decades, who have built our community, from generation to generation, L’dor V’dor.  I thank each and every Congregant, family, Rabbi Goldberg, Helen Richard and Jen Orozco for creating, maintaining and continuing to evolve our beloved community.

Now is a good moment to reconnect and reinvigorate ourselves and our community with shared experiences of worship, education, celebration, kindness and friendship.

We are developing a full slate of activities that we hope will engage you:

  • Worship & learning
  • Religious School, Youth Groups, & Camp Shalom
  • Sisterhood & Men’s Club social events
  • Social Action endeavors to help both mind & body
  • Chesed committee of compassionate reach out
  • Holiday Celebrations as a full community
  • Music: Choir & Band

Please come and take part in some of our offerings.  And, if there are activities you would like to see, I'd love to hear your suggestions. Keep watching for ways to come together!

I believe that what we have at CBSW is special and thank you for your support.

L’Shana Tovah U’Metukah
