Camp Shalom
Camp Shalom / Camp Sababa is a nine day camp for pre-school and elementary age campers at Congregation Beth Shalom of The Woodlands. It takes place the first two weeks of summer vacation from 9 am – 3 pm.
Madrichim (counselors) in grades seven and above lead the younger children in a variety of activities that included daily circle time with Rabbi Goldberg who leads Hebrew songs and prayers. Learning experiences and fun activities include a visit from an animal trainer, Israeli cooking, GaGa (Israeli-style dodgeball), jewelry making, music, drama, sports, nature exploration, arts and crafts, creative movement, movie night, story time, parachute games, challah baking, and many more. Campers spent afternoons swimming at a pool located in Shadowbend Park, which borders the synagogue.
